Library

The Trustees of Weeks Public Library selected Lavallee Brensinger Architects to design an addition to their historic library, which would maintain its existing character while significantly expanding the usable area. The new addition is placed to the rear of the site thus minimizing its impact on the historic streetscape. Careful phasing of the project will allow the library to remain open to patrons throughout construction.

The new addition will include expanded space for collections, new small and large group meeting spaces, and flexible areas to accommodate and support 21st century connectivity. Renovations to the existing building will restore the reading room to its original historic character while also providing accessibility throughout.

Children, tweens, and teens will enjoy dedicated reading space, craft and story-telling areas, tutoring and homework space; all specifically designed to evolve with future programs and services.

The community meeting room seats 100 occupants and has its own mechanical, electrical, and egress capacities which allows town groups to schedule and utilize the space when the library facilities are open or closed.
