The Project

The Town of Swampscott engaged Lavallee Brensinger Architects in the design of a new K-4 elementary school for 900 student design enrollment through the MSBA (MA School Building Authority). The school is designed to integrate Grades K-2/Lower and Grades 3-4/Upper schools with shared core facilities. The project will consolidate the existing three elementary schools. Swampscott has the 4th oldest group of schools in the Commonwealth.

In October 2021, the Town passed vote by two-thirds in favor after extensive 18-month feasibility and SD effort, including study of multiple enrollment and site location options. The project was completed in September 2024.
