The Project
Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center (SRVRTC) completes a comprehensive renovation and expansion that addresses previous space constraints, enrollment waitlists, antiquated equipment, and overburdened mechanical systems. The finished project modernizes program offerings and enhances facilities, providing students with hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for a future of their choosing.
Driven by industry growth vital to the region, the project updates 100% of existing program offerings. Each program, automotive, business, cosmetology, emergency medical services, engineering, licensed nursing assistant, natural resources, plant and animal science, and welding, engages program advisories and industry partners to ensure renovated space types align with current and future workforce demands.
A newly constructed agricultural center now co-locates the natural resources, plant science, and animal science programs. Each program has access to shared resources, including a cooking lab, greenhouse, and hydroponics lab. The agricultural center’s location improves access to the adjacent Town Forest, increasing efficiency for the Natural Resources program while supporting hands-on forest management curriculum work.
The completed project opens in Fall 2024 following a highly collaborative and strategic funding effort. The district and project team secure nearly 97% of the project budget through multiple funding sources and programs. The remaining balance is bonded with overwhelming community support, as the SAU 43 community passes the bond vote with 82% voter approval.
