The Project
A thoughtfully planned multi-building municipal complex for the City of Manchester includes a new Police Department. Lavallee Brensinger Architects, in association with Architects Design Group, designed a state-of-the-art essential, category 4 facility which includes emergency power generation and various levels of blast and ballistic resistance. Departmental layout, meeting spaces, training rooms, and communications allow the Manchester Police Department to be well prepared for incident response.
The design team addressed communication needs by outfitting the building with a secure, central dispatch center. Additional features include a safe and secure sally port for transporting prisoners, as well as storage bays for large SWAT and crime scene vehicles. To accommodate the Department’s mission of public outreach, the facility also houses a large community room for public and crime prevention programs.
