The Project

The SNHU Arena, formerly known as the Verizon Wireless Arena and originally referred to as the Manchester Civic Center, was designed in association with HOK Sport. One of the primary design challenges of the project was to creatively place a unique structure of larger scale in the downtown area, without overpowering its surroundings.

As a civic building, it is designed to express the pride and vision of the community; the wave of its roof being inspired by the neighboring Merrimack River and Amoskeag Falls. The Arena is home to the Manchester Monarchs hockey team, Dartmouth College and University of New Hampshire men’s hockey teams, the Manchester Wolves arena football team, and hosts shows, concerts, and business events. In addition to the NHL-sized ice rink, the venue is furnished with concession areas and private suites for its guests.
