The Race to Support Mental Health Awareness

13 team members representing Lavallee Brensinger Architects were among the 302 people who participated in the annual Harvard Pilgrim Health Care 5K run/walk in support of the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester on Thursday, June 17th.

The first wave of runners, decked out in their finest neon colors, left the gate at 6:30pm for a 3- mile trek along the north end streets of Manchester, NH. The Lite up the Nite fundraising event began in 2010 and has since raised awareness and funds for mental health.

Lavallee Brensinger Architects encourages and supports their entire staff to commit time, energy, and resources to community organizations and nonprofit initiatives which they truly believe make a difference in the lives of others.

“Mental health awareness is profoundly important to Lavallee Brensinger Architects, our employees, our families, and our friends.  We are proud to support this important effort which is critically important to the health of our communities, through our time, contributions, and the focus of our work.” Chris Drobat, President.

The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester is a private, nonprofit community mental wellness center serving children, teens, adults, and seniors from the Greater Manchester area since 1960.  The 5/K run/walk’s focus is on bringing awareness to the importance of mental health care.

“Mental health care is just as important as physical health. People don’t really think about their mental health. They go to a regular doctor but don’t consider seeing a mental health professional.” Brionna Blodget, Community Relations Assistant, Mental Health Center Greater Manchester.

Eric LeBlanc, RA, USGBC, LEED, AP, BD+C placed 14 out of 302 and was the very first of the Lavallee Brensinger team to finish with a 23.29.2 chip time.

“Lavallee Brensinger values the lasting impact that its team has through its involvement in so many local volunteer opportunities and events. Not only is it a great way to give back to the community and take part in something beyond our work, but it also helps us to form new bonds with people we might not have otherwise met.” Eric LeBlanc.
