Case Study: Operational Planning in Ambulatory Care

The 4th edition of Planning, Design, and Construction of Health Care Facilities, a publication of Joint Commission and the American Institute of Architects Academy of Architecture for Health, features a case study on Reliant Medical Group’s strategically planned project to offer a centralized, standardized system of patient-centered care.
Lavallee Brensinger was involved ahead of site selection to help develop a prototype and test-fit potential sites. We also provided planning and design services across 9 locations encompassing 430,000 SF including: primary care, specialties services, endoscopy, imaging, rehabilitation, and lab services.
Danielle Santos, AIA, EDAC, LEED® AP, architect and principal, stated in the case study, “We knew that certain spaces such as exam rooms and team rooms would be repeated throughout the various locations. We designed those modules so they would be ready to plug into the sites when they were chosen.”
