The Project
The new Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Heater Road Building is one of the first implementation projects to result from the Lavallee Brensinger Master Plan. The new medical office building will house Outpatient Rehabilitation, Functional Restoration, Primary Care, Phlebotomy, Dermatology, and a Sleep Disorders Program. Spaces for Patient support programs will follow the “Medical Home” model, and include Shared Medical Appointments, Patient Education, Behavioral Health, Dietitian, Health Coach, and Care Management. These programs are being relocated from the Medical Center as part of the master plan. The new building is being designed to create “clinical pods” with decentralized team rooms that will allow better staff collaboration, while minimizing travel distances. Lab space and meds rooms are conveniently nearby, and work alcoves for providers have been included within the centralized team rooms to further promote teamwork and efficiency.
