The Project
The St. Joseph Emergency Department has seen a steady growth of volume since it was last renovated in the 1980’s. Lavallee Brensinger Architects worked closely with the Department to define an ideal patient and staff flow. This included Lean 3P Process and Simulation Modeling.
The design captured adjacent underutilized space to create a more contiguous expanded area. The new Department features all private universal rooms as well as a dedicated behavioral health unit. The design focused on efficiency and flexibility, while creating a low stress environment for patients, staff and family.
